Pronouns: he/him

Gender: Nonbinary, but doesn’t like being shoved under a label, so he wouldn't use that term most of the time. He’s a man and a woman. He’s very feminine, so people frequently treat him as a girl for the sake of their own comfort. He doesn’t like his male part being ignored, so he overcompensates by using masculine pronouns and being very adamant that he’s a boy. He just doesn’t want to be shoved in a box anymore. If someone shoved him into the “boy” box, he’d probably get fed up eventually and say “I’m a girl!”. It doesn’t happen a lot, though.

Presentation: He wears a male school uniform, and really likes it. He accessorizes with a pink brooch that matches his hair, and wears an androgynous ponytail. Outside of school, he likes to wear girl clothes because it's fun and cute. He styles his hair in a style of his own invention, with his signature heart loops.

Age: 18 (4th year of high school)

Birthday: November 13th

Zodiac sign: Scorpio

Height: 5’6

Personality: Gentle, a romantic, thoughtful, optimistic, cares about others, resilient, has a strong sense of justice, intensely loves the world around him, sensitive, confident but has a sense of meekness about him, always seems a little sad/tired

Likes: Friendship, children, babies, helping people, flowers, elegant and pretty things, art

Dislikes: Cynicism, malicious people, violence, nihilism (the pessimistic kind), large insects (unless they’re cute)

Character Strengths: Naturally having positive interpretations of situations, diffusing conflicts, taking care of people, understanding others, charisma

Character Weaknesses: Avoids conflict, struggles to hurt people or cause harm of any kind, sees people’s actions in the best way possible (he can’t imagine hurting others on purpose, so he assumes everyone has good intentions), doesn’t like criticizing people or complaining, can be airheaded or oblivious at times, sometimes in his own world, can retreat into his head to avoid realities that don’t make sense to him (most harmful when done during a critical moment), low energy, more likely to faint than the average person

Hobbies: Calligraphy, crafting, reading, video games about friendship love or animals, bittersweet and idealistic shoujo manga, shounen manga featuring handsome men with passionate relationships (he interprets it romantically and gets flustered), complicated games like kou shogi (he struggles but likes the challenge).

Realms of Influence: Nurturing and heaven

Powers:

Healing - Can heal himself. Can heal others through direct touch (skin-to-skin not required, can be through clothing). Heals minor wounds and rejuvenates energy levels. Can be used once every 30 minutes. Using it more within that time span will result in extreme fatigue, immobility, or fainting depending on the strength of the healing and the frequency. He may only heal one person at a time.

Feather Arrows - Stun attack. A barrage of small, white feathers that slash the target at high speed. They make a disorienting whizzing noise that confuses the target. They are very bright, and can temporarily blind the target. The attack has a range of 10 feet, and can be used for 10 seconds at max. The attack will end if his focus is broken. This power is only for defense, as it causes no damage.

Power Weaknesses: Neither can be used without adequate focus. So, they both require a clear state of mind and enough time to center oneself (will vary based on circumstance). High emotion, disorientation, and fatigue/injury can impair his abilities. Feather Arrows will lose effectiveness on enemies who don’t rely on their vision/hearing, who are mentally disciplined, who are fast, or who have already been attacked with it. If his energy is very low, he may not be able to use healing at all.

Background: Touri was born into the normal (and rather successful) upper middle class Amou family. His dad is a statistician and his mom is a business woman (he can never remember the official title of her job). Both grew up in poor families, and are rather frugal. So, he’s lived a pretty normal life, considering.

He was born with a weak body, and doctors have not been able to pinpoint a specific cause of his health issues. After years without any sort of diagnosis, he began to feel that he isn’t truly sick, and is just being dramatic. He overextends himself to seem as normal as he possibly can. He has grown stronger in his late teens, and is optimistic he can put his illness behind him.

In the past, he was passionate about kendo, but had to give it up because of frequent collapses and fainting. He found that he feels much better when sitting, so he leaned into his more stationary interests, oftentimes staying inside.

He struggles to fit in with girls or boys, and frequently ends up lonely. Boys find him too polite and shy. Girls generally dote on him, and dress him up like a girl as well, which makes him feel a bit more like a pet or a toy than a friend. Very few people tried to connect with him in a genuine way, like they were confused how to. He still does his best to be optimistic and help others, despite this.

He went to an international school when he was in junior high, and got pretty good at English. He still talks with English-speaking friends online, and uses teenager slang.

In middle school, it was easy to make friends, because boys and girls were still the same. In high school, a rift between boys and girls has grown as they become men and women, leaving Touri stuck in between.

He has an infant sister named Chiko (ちこ). Her brother is her favorite person. He has a tendency to give a person a lot of nicknames, and calls her Chi-chan, Chi-chi, and Chii. In comparison to Touri, she is very durable, and likes to “headbutt things with her concrete skull” as he puts it. They are so far apart in age, because his mom was hesitant about having a second child. (She was preoccupied with work, and also afraid they would be another sick baby, like Touri.)

He gets along with old people, because he has bad health as well.
